aftermath from Robotic Radical Prostatectomy

aftermath from Robotic Radical Prostatectomy

I had my prostatectomy during May 2023. They also had to remove quite a bit of nerve tissue, and I ever since could not manage an erection, even though I can achieve (sort of) a dry orgasm. I tried air pumps, tablets etc … I guess my last option is to try injections.

I would appreciate to obtain ANY valuable feedback and suggestions you can provide me with.

My husband uses injections and he had no nerve damage. Except itโ€™s wise to get shown how to do it properly or use the tool to help, because he now has scar tissue from where heโ€™s missed or not done it properly

Have you considered a penile implant? I would try the injections first however. Have a chat with a PCFA nurse 1800 22 00 99 so you can assess all the options. My erections returned 18 mths after prostatectomy. I used 1/4 viagra daily soon after op and vacuum pump for penile rehab. I might have been lucky with the nerve sparing however. Donโ€™t give up mate!

Hi Barajas699,

Had the same surgery a few years ago and the nerve damage and replumbing after the prostate and seminal vessel removal had a major impact on my functions. Pumps and tablets did not work and CAVERJECT Injections were initially encouraging but hurt like hell for a few hours after the event; something I had to used to. After a while the injections were not working so I stopped using them – makes you feel like a burden in a relationship.
