Are Biopsies Necessary?
Are Biopsies Necessary?
My PSMA-PET scan shows a 90-95% chance of the tumour detected being malignant. it is 100% contained within the gland. My Uro wants to do a biopsy to get a Gleason Score before acting. I prefer immediate tumour, or prostate, removal without a biopsy.

Hi Busby48589,
Thanks for your post.
We would recommend speaking with your specialist about this.
It is not common practice to commence prostate cancer treatment without a biopsy.
A biopsy is the only definitive way to diagnose prostate cancer and helps determine how aggressive the cancer may be, guiding treatment decisions.
