Pet scan.

Pet scan.

Recently diagnosed. MRI showed no pirads lesions just extensive difuse inflamation, some swelling in the lower seminals but suggesting prostatis suggested biopsy due to the suspicious inflammation in the very bottom of the seminals. No EPE no nerve involvement, no lymph or bone involvement and everything else looked normal.

biopsy. 6/30 cores came back positive 2 x 3+3 and 4 x 3+4. Small 7mm and 2mm respectively and 10% and 5% pattern 4 respectively. No Cribriform, no EPE of the sampled cores, no PNI.

to me it looks like a favourable intermediate risk grade two cancer. But Pet scan ordered anyway.

questions

  1. is this standard procedure and nothing really to worry about?
  2. anyone have had pet scans come back positive for low grade FIRG2 diagnosis.
  3. If any spread locally is mostly first from what I can gather.

just starting to freak when 7-10 year OS rates for distant spread.

based in the snowies so having a group in Canberra is great.
